Uncover your passion and sense of adventure through real and virtual excursions around the world.

I-U Psychology of Eco-Adventure

Because of our addiction to electronic devices, many of us have become disconnected from the natural world and this disengagement has challenged our sense of identity. In this course, Students identify and begin to confront fears and anxieties with regard to participating in nature experiences. They work with classmates to create mini-adventures that engage a core fear and then report back on their successes. These experiences can be significant and transformative, resulting in an enriched capacity for handling life.

Cross Disciplinary Archeology

The problem with archeology is that newly discovered sites typically have one principal archeologist in charge who is compromised through politics.  To discover the relevance of sacred sites, we need a cross-disciplinary approach including geology, ethnography, climatology, anthropology, archeoacoustics, organic chemistry, and archeoastronomy.  Students will be virtual or real investigators at a historic site and collaboratively develop a worldwide map of scientific data to get a global, comprehensive view of our ancient past.
